A Professional Development Day about making music and music culture more accessible to D/deaf people. It will be a day of inspiration and development for D/deaf and hearing musicians, music hubs, music teachers, composers, music students and anyone interested in increasing creative access to music.
The way in which D/deaf people interact with, consume and create music is differentfrom how hearing people do it. Embracing this difference opens up a world ofpossibilities for D/deaf and hearing musicians alike. Join us for a day of shared conversations, ideas and tools for making and promoting D/deaf accessible music.
The day includes:
A main stage performance of Soonchild by Red Earth Theatre with live musicby Threaded, sign song and creative captions.
Practical steps for promoting D/deaf access and inclusion in music education,performance and composition.

Caroline Parker MBE – D/deaf actor and Sign Song Diva
Amy Swallow – Peripatetic music teacher in a D/deaf school
Threaded folk fusion band - Rosie, Jamie and Ning-ning – composers andperformers of D/deaf accessible music for Soonchild.
This event will be BSL interpreted.
Ticket Price includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day, and a main stage full theatrical performance of 'Soonchild' by Red Earth Theatre
